What's left behind the scenes
- The series is based on true events.
- The series is based on the article "An Unbelievable Story of Rape" by T. Christian Miller and Ken Armstrong, and the episode "Anatomy of Doubt" from the weekly radio program This American Life.
- Caitlin Diver constantly listened to recordings of Canadian singer Avril Lavigne. This helped her stay in character.
- Special Agent Billy Taggart, played by Scott Lawrence, has a name composed of the names of characters from the 1984 comedy "Beverly Hills Cop" (Martin Brest). These were John Taggart and William "Billy" Rosewood.
