What's left behind the scenes
- Based on the true story of Detective Steve Falcher, who, while investigating the disappearance of a young woman, violated several police procedural rules to get the prime suspect to confess and reveal the victim's location. The suspect also simultaneously confessed to the kidnapping and murder of another young woman several years prior. Because Falcher had not officially warned the suspect or notified him of his rights, the case was jeopardized. The detective's actions were harshly criticized by his superiors and the court; following a disciplinary action, Falcher resigned.
