Niki

This historical drama follows the life of Niki de Saint-Phalle, a model and aspiring actress. At age 23, she leaves the United States with her husband, Harry Matthews, and their young daughter to escape the oppressive climate of the McCarthy era. Although the family initially finds happiness after arriving in France, Niki is soon haunted by disturbing memories from her past. She eventually finds a way to cope with her psychological struggles and liberate herself through the creation of visual art.

The film was directed by Céline Sallette, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Samuel Doux. Charlotte Le Bon stars in the title role, appearing alongside John Robinson, Damien Bonnard, Quentin Dolmaire, Judith Chemla, and Virgile Bramly. A joint production from Belgium and France, the movie was produced by Jalil Lespert, Julien Deris, and David Gauquié.

Upon its release, the film earned 1 million USD at the worldwide box office. Audience reception has been moderate, with the movie holding a 6/10 rating on IMDb based on 666 votes and a 6.2/10 rating on TMDB from 57 votes.
