Short description

Pooja, Sir is a crime thriller set in a border town in Nepal. The story follows Detective Inspector Pooja, who travels from Kathmandu to investigate the kidnapping of two young boys. Her efforts are complicated by violent protests and political unrest occurring in the region. To solve the case, Pooja must collaborate with Mamata, a local Madhesi police officer. Together, the two women navigate systemic discrimination and misogyny to find the missing children.

The film was directed by Deepak Rauniyar, following his previous works Highway and White Sun, and preceding Private Property. The screenplay was written by Rauniyar alongside David Barker and Asha Magrati. The movie stars Asha Magrati as Pooja Thapa and Nikita Chandak as Mamata Gupta, with Dayahang Rai appearing as Police captain Madan Rai. Other cast members include Aarti Mandal, Reecha Sharma, and Bijay Baral, as part of a credited cast of 28 people.
