The Editorial Office

Set in the steppes of southern Ukraine, this comedy-drama follows Yura, a nature researcher who witnesses a crime while studying endangered groundhogs. Attempting to bring the truth to light, he joins a local newspaper office, only to find himself entangled in a web of corruption and fake news. As regional mayoral elections approach, Yura struggles to maintain his idealism against a backdrop of political manipulation and the looming threat of war.

The film was directed by Roman Bondarchuk, marking his third feature following Dixieland: Little Kids Big Dreams and Ukrainian Sheriffs. He also co-wrote the screenplay alongside Dar'ya Averchenko and Alla Tyutyunnik. The movie stars Dmytro Bahnenko in the lead role of Yura, supported by Zhanna Ozirna, Rymma Zyubina, Andrii Kyrylchuk, and Oleksandr Shmal.

A joint production involving Ukraine, Germany, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic, the project received support from the Ukrainian State Film Agency, the Czech Film Fund, and Eurimages. The film has a runtime of 127 minutes. Audience reception is reflected in the ratings on IMDb and on TMDB.
