What's left behind the scenes

  • In preparation for filming, the lead actor, David Corenswet, worked with a personal trainer and gained 18 kg of muscle mass.
  • According to the director, screenwriter, and producer of the film, James Gunn, he was coming to terms with his father's death while writing the script.
  • According to James Gunn, the first teaser trailer for the film garnered over 250 million views across all platforms in 24 hours, becoming the most-watched trailer in the history of Warner Bros. and DC Comics films.
  • According to director and screenwriter James Gunn, Nicholas Hoult auditioned for the role of Superman. He was not suitable for the role of Superman because, in Gunn's opinion, his Superman was too restrained. However, Gunn appreciated Hoult's skill and offered him the role of Lex Luthor.
  • According to actor David Corenswet, during the filming of one scene, Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane) said an offensive remark, which made him swear, but David continued to play his role. Corenswet noted that everyone was shocked by his outburst. The actor did not specify which scene he was referring to.
  • According to Isabella Merced, her involvement in "Madame Web" helped her prepare for filming "Superman": the experience of playing a superhero and the stunt skills she acquired proved useful.
  • According to Nathan Fillion, who played Guy Gardner, he insisted on a bowl cut for his character. The character had the same haircut in the original DC comics.
  • Krypto the Superdog was created based on the image of James Gunn's dog named Oz.
  • Actor Wendell Pierce (who played Daily Planet editor-in-chief Perry White) admitted that he didn't read comics as a child, and therefore asked his friends to briefly tell him about the DC universe and the character he was going to play before filming the movie.
  • According to director and screenwriter James Gunn, a scene in the film where Superman saves a squirrel during a battle was almost cut from the final version because it did not resonate with some viewers at a test screening. However, Gunn watched the film without this scene and decided it was missing. Removing the scene also disrupted the continuity of Superman's movements.
  • A cut version was shown in Indian cinemas. Moments with indecent gestures and expressions, and scenes of two kisses between Clark Kent and Lois Lane, were removed from the film.
  • According to actor David Corenswet, the first work about Superman in his life was the series 'Smallville', so when working on the image for this film, he was primarily inspired by Superman as portrayed by Tom Welling.
  • According to Isabela Merced, during negotiations with DC Studios, she did not disclose her involvement in the Marvel-based film 'Madame Web', fearing that she would not be allowed to star in films from two rival studios.
  • According to actor Nicholas Hoult, while working on the character of Lex Luthor, his main inspiration was the image of Luthor from the series “Smallville” as portrayed by Michael Rosenbaum. He also drew inspiration from the comic book “Superman: All-Star,” and as a result, before filming began, he started exercising to better match this version of the character as well.
