Uprising

Set during the Joseon Dynasty, this historical drama focuses on the fractured relationship between two childhood friends. One grew up as a servant while the other was his master. Following a war, the two men reunite only to find themselves as enemies fighting for opposing causes.

Directed by Kim Sang-man, this is the second feature film in his career following Midnight FM. The screenplay was written by Park Chan-wook and Shin Chul. The movie stars Gang Dong-won and Park Jeong-min in the lead roles, with a supporting cast that includes Cha Seung-won, Kim Shin-rock, Jin Sun-kyu, and Jung Sung-il. The production was handled by Moho Film and Semicolon Studio in Korea.

Audience reception has been generally positive, with a rating of 6.6/10 on IMDb based on 7,100 votes and a 7/10 on TMDB from 224 votes. Film critics provided a slightly higher rating of 6.8/10 across 10 reviews.
