Rosario Tijeras is a Colombian crime drama centred on a young woman from a poor neighbourhood of Medellín who has endured violence at the hands of men since childhood, beginning with her stepfather. As an adult she works as a hired killer, drawing men in and shooting them when they are off guard. At a nightclub she meets Emilio, a wealthy womaniser, and his closest friend Antonio. She begins an affair with Emilio even as Antonio's feelings for her deepen, and shifting circumstances gradually push her toward Antonio, while the life she came from closes in on her. The story unfolds largely through the two friends' perspective on Rosario, and it is based on a novel.
Emilio Maillé directed the film, his first, from a screenplay by Marcelo Figueras; he returned to directing with La noche eterna del Baby'O twenty years later. Flora Martínez plays Rosario, with Manolo Cardona and Unax Ugalde as Emilio and Antonio, alongside Alejandra Borrero, Kristina Lilley and Rodrigo Oviedo. The production involved companies and funds from Colombia, Spain, Brazil and Mexico, and it runs 126 minutes. On IMDb it holds 6.3/10 from around 2,700 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 6.7/10 from 136 votes, a warmer but much smaller sample.
