Dagon

Dagon follows Paul and his girlfriend Barbara, who are celebrating the success of their internet company aboard a yacht off the Spanish coast with their investor Howard and his wife Vicki. When the boat strikes a reef and is damaged, Paul and Barbara head to the nearest village, Imboca, to find help. The decaying fishing town appears deserted at first, but its inhabitants soon prove hostile. Barbara disappears, Paul is pursued through the streets, and he learns that the townspeople serve Dagon, a sea deity demanding human sacrifice.

The film was directed by Stuart Gordon, working from a screenplay by Dennis Paoli, with Brian Yuzna producing. It belongs to a run of films Gordon made after Re-Animator, From Beyond and Castle Freak, and it shares those films' interest in horror drawn from the writings of H. P. Lovecraft. The cast includes Ezra Godden as Paul, Raquel Meroño as Bárbara, Francisco Rabal as Ezequiel, Macarena Gómez as Uxía Cambarro, Brendan Price as Howard and Birgit Bofarull as Vicki. It was produced in Spain on a budget of about five million dollars.
