Vera and the Pleasure of Others

Vera is seventeen and fills her days with school, volleyball and a secret source of income. She rents out an empty apartment by the hour to teenagers who need somewhere private to have sex, taking the keys without her mother knowing. Vera stays behind the closed door while the couples come and go, listening in, and the sounds she hears begin to stir desires of her own.

Romina Tamburello and Federico Actis directed the film together and wrote the screenplay, with Santiago King and Actis producing. It is an Argentine production, made with the involvement of INCAA, Cine Argentino, Elite Filmes and Pez Cine, and it runs 104 minutes. Luciana Grasso plays Vera, heading a cast that also includes Inés Estévez as Adriana, David Zoela as Martín, Estefanía Nicoló as Nadia, Carlos Resta as Roberto and Ofelia Castillo as Lucila.

The film was released on September 26, 2024. It is a comedy-drama that mixes a teenager's business venture with her gradual sexual awakening. On TMDB it holds a rating of 6.4 out of 10 from 55 votes, which suggests a modest response from the users who have seen it rather than a broad consensus.
