The Little Rascals centres on a group of neighbourhood children whose club is built on a strict rule: no contact with girls. That rule is shattered when Alfalfa, one of the members, falls for Darla. His friends in the club set out to break the two apart, while a wealthy newcomer named Waldo also shows interest in Darla. Trouble deepens when the boys' clubhouse is wrecked and their prized go-kart is taken, forcing them to find a way back into the race.
The film is a 1994 American comedy, family and romance feature directed by Penelope Spheeris from a screenplay she wrote with Paul Guay and Stephen Mazur. It followed her work on Wayne's World and The Beverly Hillbillies and came before Black Sheep and Senseless. The large young cast includes Bug Hall as Alfalfa, Brittany Ashton Holmes as Darla, Travis Tedford as Spanky, Kevin Jamal Woods as Stymie, Jordan Warkol as Froggy and Zachary Mabry as Porky, with 46 credited cast members and 49 credited crew, produced by Bill Oakes and Michael King and released by Universal Pictures with Amblin Entertainment and King World Entertainment.
The film runs 82 minutes and took around 67 million dollars worldwide. On IMDb it holds 6.3 out of 10 from about 61,000 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 6.8 out of 10 from roughly 1,370 votes, a slightly warmer reception from that smaller group of users.
