Short description

A group of Thai high school students with a shared love of filmmaking decides to make a short movie about a classmate who has recently died. What starts as a school project gains unexpected momentum: friends, family and teachers throw their support behind it, and the school's film club joins in. As the production moves forward, the students uncover secrets about the classmate that reshape how they see both him and the filmmaking they have committed themselves to.

Not Friends is a Thai comedy-drama released in October 2023 and directed by Atta Hemwadee, who also wrote the screenplay. It was his first feature, followed by Gohan in 2026. Vanridee Pongsittisak and Nattawut Poonpiriya served as producers. The cast is led by Anthony Buisseret as Pae and Pisitpol Ekpongpisit as Joe, alongside Thitiya Jirapornsilp, Tanakorn Tiyanont, Ingkarat Damrongsakkul and Natticha Chantaravareelekha. The production involved 74 credited cast members and 47 credited crew members.

Audience response has been positive, with the film holding a rating of 7.4 out of 10 on IMDb from roughly 1,200 votes and the same score on TMDB from a much smaller number of votes. The similarity between the two scores suggests broad and consistent satisfaction among those who have seen it.
