The White Storm 3: Heaven or Hell

The White Storm 3: Heaven or Hell follows two Hong Kong police officers working undercover inside a drug cartel run by Suchat, a notorious Thai trafficker. One of them is exposed and the operation collapses, while the other stays hidden and travels with Suchat to the Golden Triangle. There a tip about a traitor inside Suchat's trusted circle raises the pressure on the officers, whose loyalties are pulled between the job and the bond they have formed with the man they were sent to bring down.

Herman Yau directs and wrote the screenplay, with Alvin Lam producing. The film is the eleventh of the sixteen features Yau has directed in chronological order, coming between Moscow Mission and Death Notice, both from 2023. Louis Koo, Lau Ching-wan and Aaron Kwok lead a credited cast of thirty-nine, with Alex Fong Chung-Sun, Edward Chui Wai-Tung and Gallen Lo Ka-Leung in supporting roles.

Released in July 2023 and running 125 minutes, the Hong Kong and Chinese co-production comes from Universe Entertainment, AMTD Digital, Hero Films and Lian Ray Pictures. Reception among viewers has been mixed: it holds 5.9 out of 10 on IMDb from fewer than seven hundred votes, and 6.1 out of 10 on TMDB from a small sample of around sixty.
