Diagnosis: Dissent

Set in 1977 within the Ukrainian SSR, this historical drama follows Andrii Dovzhenko after he discovers that the Soviet state used psychiatric hospitals to silence those accused of anti-Soviet propaganda. Diagnosed with slow progressive schizophrenia, Andrii is imprisoned in a facility where punitive psychiatry is used to break dissidents. He must decide between cooperating with the KGB to reunite with his family or exposing the torture and brutality faced by other prisoners. The story was developed using the memoirs of people who suffered under this totalitarian system.

The film was directed by Denis Tarasov and produced by FILM.UA Group. The cast is led by Kostiantyn Temliak in the role of Andrii Dovzhenko, appearing alongside Nataliia Babenko, Sergey Kalantay, Irma Vitovska, Ostap Stupka, and Serhii Kysil.
