The Seventh Sign is a 1988 American drama, horror and thriller about Abby Quinn, a pregnant woman living in Los Angeles with her husband Russell. The couple rent a small apartment above their garage to a mysterious lodger named David Bannon, and Abby soon comes to believe that his arrival is tied to a series of strange events reported around the world. She discovers that he is acting out the apocalyptic prophecies of the Book of Revelation, and that she and her unborn child have a part to play in them.
Carl Schultz directed the film from a screenplay by Clifford Green and Ellen Green, with Ted Field and Robert W. Cort producing for TriStar Pictures, Interscope Communications and ML Delphi Premier Productions. Demi Moore plays Abby, Michael Biehn plays Russell and Jürgen Prochnow plays David Bannon, with supporting turns from Peter Friedman, Manny Jacobs and Lee Garlington among a credited cast of 22. The film runs 97 minutes.
Released in April 1988, the film took about 19 million dollars worldwide. On IMDb it holds 5.8 out of 10 from around 17,000 votes, and on TMDB 6 out of 10 from roughly 395 votes. A critics' rating of 3.7 out of 10 from 20 reviews places it well below the audience scores.
