Renn Wheeland is a twenty-eight-year-old writer living in Los Angeles who travels back to his hometown of Cleveland after his mother's death. On the flight he meets Zoey, a therapist, and the two strike up a connection, though he does not tell her why he is making the trip. Back home, he stays with his father and stepfather, spends time with his sister Leigh and reconnects with a young woman from his past, while memories of his childhood and of his mother's illness keep surfacing. Avoiding calls from his sister and his employer, Renn gradually has to deal with the loss he has been holding at a distance.
The film is a comedy-drama directed by Robert Schwartzman from a screenplay by Brett Ryland. It is the second of the three features Schwartzman has directed, following Dreamland and preceding the documentary Hung Up on a Dream: The Zombies Documentary, both in 2024. Nick Jonas leads the cast as Renn, with Brittany Snow as Leigh, Alexandra Shipp as Zoey, David Arquette, Matt Walsh and Elisabeth Shue among the twenty-one credited performers.
It runs 96 minutes and was released in July 2024. On IMDb it holds a rating of 5.5 from around 1,200 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 6.1 from a much smaller number of votes, a pattern that suggests a modest audience response from a limited viewership.
