Seed of Chucky

Seed of Chucky follows Glen, a shy, orphaned young doll living in England who discovers through television that the murderous doll Chucky and his partner Tiffany are his parents. Glen travels to Hollywood, where a film about his parents' killings is being made, and uses a voodoo ritual to bring them back to life. The reunion goes badly: Chucky is dismayed that his child has no appetite for killing, while Tiffany is preoccupied with the actress Jennifer Tilly, who is starring in the film and soon finds herself playing unwilling host to the family. The film mixes horror with comedy and is the fifth entry in the Child's Play series.

Don Mancini directed from his own screenplay; this was his first time directing in the series, and he later returned for Curse of Chucky and Cult of Chucky. Brad Dourif voices Chucky, Jennifer Tilly appears as both Tiffany and herself, Billy Boyd voices Glen and Glenda, and the rapper Redman plays a version of himself alongside John Waters as Pete Peters. David Kirschner and Corey Sienega produced.

Made for about 12 million dollars, the film took roughly 25 million worldwide, a modest return for a long-running horror franchise. On IMDb it holds 4.9 out of 10 from around 54,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 5.5 from 1,800 votes. A critics' rating of 4.8 from 80 reviews places it close to the audience scores, suggesting broad agreement about the film's merits rather than a sharp divide.
