Herbie Fully Loaded

Herbie Fully Loaded follows Maggie Peyton, a recent college graduate preparing to move to New York, whose family has a long racing history. Her father and grandfather were involved in stock car racing, but after an accident in her youth, Maggie was kept away from the track. When her father takes her to a junkyard to find a car, she ends up with an old Volkswagen Beetle, Number 53, that seems to think for itself and refuses to be scrapped. Maggie discovers the car, Herbie, has a mind of its own and a talent for racing, and she sets out to compete in NASCAR events.

The film is directed by Angela Robinson, following her 2004 feature D.E.B.S. and preceding Professor Marston and the Wonder Women. The screenplay is by Thomas Lennon, Miles Millar and Alfred Gough, with Lindsay Lohan in the lead, supported by Michael Keaton, Matt Dillon, Breckin Meyer, Justin Long and Cheryl Hines across a credited cast of 37.

Produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Robert Simonds Productions on a budget of 50 million dollars, the film took about 144 million dollars worldwide, a solid return on its cost. On IMDb, voters rate it 4.9 out of 10 from around 54,000 votes, while on TMDB it holds 5.8 out of 10 from roughly 2,500 votes. A critics' rating of 5.6 out of 10 from 141 reviews places it close to the audience scores.
