Lage Raho Munna Bhai

Lage Raho Munna Bhai follows Munna, a Mumbai gangster whose feelings for Jhanvi, a morning radio host, push him toward an unusual goal. Jhanvi also runs a home for elderly residents, and a property developer wants to take the building from her. To win her notice, Munna dishonestly comes out on top in a radio quiz about Mahatma Gandhi, and when Jhanvi shows interest in him as a result, he and his friend Circuit work to keep the deception going. His growing involvement with Gandhi's ideas begins to affect the people around him as well.

Rajkumar Hirani directed the film, his second feature after Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. in 2003, and wrote it with Abhijat Joshi and producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra, working again with the earlier film's lead pair. Sanjay Dutt plays Munna, Arshad Warsi plays Circuit, Vidya Balan plays Jhanvi, Boman Irani plays Lucky Singh, Dilip Prabhavalkar appears as Gandhi, and Dia Mirza plays Simran, among a credited cast of twenty-three. The film runs 144 minutes.

The film was released in September 2006. Made for a reported 120 million dollars, it returned 18 million dollars worldwide. On IMDb it holds 8 out of 10 from roughly 53,000 votes, while on TMDB it has 7.3 out of 10 from about 241 votes, a far smaller sample.
