Mohabbatein

Mohabbatein is an Indian romantic drama set at Gurukul, an elite all-male university governed by the stern headmaster Narayan Shankar. His rules leave no room for romance or contact with the outside world, but three new students, Vicky, Sameer and Karan, fall in love with young women from beyond the campus. Their rebellion gains an ally in Raj Aryan Malhotra, a newly arrived music teacher whose free spirit and encouragement of the boys put him on a collision course with the headmaster. Behind their clash lies a shared history involving the headmaster's late daughter, Megha.

The film was directed and written by Aditya Chopra and produced by Yash Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner. It was Aditya Chopra's second film as director, following Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge in 1995 and preceding Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi in 2008. Amitabh Bachchan plays the headmaster, Shah Rukh Khan plays the music teacher, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan appears as Megha. The students are played by Uday Chopra, Jugal Hansraj and Jimmy Shergill, within a credited cast of 29 and a crew of 82.

Made on a budget of about 4 million US dollars, the film took roughly 20 million dollars worldwide, a strong return on its cost. On IMDb it holds a rating of 7 out of 10 from more than 32,000 votes, while on TMDB it has a rating of 7.1 out of 10 from 305 votes, indicating a generally positive audience response that is consistent across both.
