His Three Daughters

His Three Daughters centers on a father's final days and the three women who gather to see him through them. Katie, Rachel and Christina are estranged sisters who come together in their father Vincent's small New York apartment. Sharing that cramped space, and the strain of caring for a dying man, forces the siblings to confront the distances that grew between them and the tensions that resurface once they are under one roof. The film mixes comedy with drama in its portrait of a family reuniting under difficult circumstances.

Azazel Jacobs wrote and directed the film, his fourth feature after Terri, The Lovers and French Exit, and he also produced it alongside Lia Buman and Tim Headington. Carrie Coon, Natasha Lyonne and Elizabeth Olsen play the sisters, with Jay O. Sanders as Vincent and supporting turns from Jovan Adepo and Rudy Galvan. It runs 104 minutes and was released in September 2024.

The response has been strongest among critics: a critics' rating of 8.1/10 from 150 reviews stands above the audience scores of 7.1/10 on IMDb, from around 21,000 votes, and 6.8/10 on TMDB, from roughly 319 votes. That pattern suggests reviewers responded more warmly than general viewers, though both groups rate the film positively overall.
