Old School

Old School follows three men in their thirties whose lives have settled into routines they did not plan for. Mitch has just moved into a house near the college campus after a breakup, Frank is married and far from the partying he once enjoyed, and Beanie is a family man who misses his wilder years. When the college tries to force Mitch out of the house, the friends turn it into a fraternity of their own, welcoming anyone regardless of age. The scheme brings back the parties and carefree days they remember, but it also puts them in conflict with the dean, a former classmate they once mocked, who wants the operation shut down.

The film was directed by Todd Phillips, who also wrote the screenplay with Scot Armstrong and produced it with Daniel Goldberg and Joe Medjuck. It was Phillips's second feature, following Road Trip in 2000. Luke Wilson plays Mitch, Will Ferrell plays Frank, Vince Vaughn plays Beanie, and Jeremy Piven plays Dean Pritchard. The cast runs to 73 credited performers, with Ellen Pompeo as Nicole and Craig Kilborn as Mark.

Made for about 24 million US dollars, the comedy earned roughly 87 million worldwide, a strong return on its budget. On TMDB it holds a rating of 6.6 out of 10 from more than two thousand votes. It runs 92 minutes.
