Kejarlah Janji

Kejarlah Janji is an Indonesian comedy-drama centered on Pertiwi, a resilient woman who raised her three children, Adam, Sekar, and Isham, until they reached adulthood and moved away from their hometown. The family is marked by tragedy and tension following the death of Pertiwi's husband, which occurred after he lost a local election for village head to a rival named Janji Upaya. Believing Janji Upaya is responsible for their father's passing, the three children harbor a deep and lasting resentment toward him.

The film was directed by Garin Nugroho and written by Alim Sudio. In Nugroho's chronology of work, this project follows Chaotic Love Poems from 2016 and precedes Samsara, Siapa Dia, and two other productions. The movie features a cast of 46 credited performers, led by Cut Mini Theo as Pertiwi and Ibnu Jamil as Janji Upaya, alongside Bima Zeno, Shenina Cinnamon, Thomas Rian, and Muhammad Abe. The production was a collaborative effort between several companies, including Padi Padi Creative, Asta Jaya Centra Cinema, Garin Nugroho Workshop, and Komisi Pemilihan Umum. With a runtime of 107 minutes, the film was released on September 15, 2023.
