The Hot Chick

Jessica Spencer is the most popular girl at her high school, and also one of the cruelest. Her life changes when a pair of enchanted earrings and a chance encounter bring about a swap: Jessica wakes up in the body of Clive, a small-time crook who makes his living robbing gas stations, while Clive finds himself in Jessica's body. Stuck in an unfamiliar and unglamorous form, Jessica tries to work out what happened and how to reverse it, with the school prom approaching. Along the way, she begins to see how badly she has treated the people around her.

The Hot Chick is a 2002 American comedy with fantasy elements, directed by Tom Brady and released on December 13, 2002. It runs 104 minutes and was made by Happy Madison Productions and Touchstone Pictures. Brady wrote the screenplay with Rob Schneider, who plays Jessica, heading a cast that also includes Anna Faris, Matthew Lawrence, Eric Christian Olsen, Robert Davi and Melora Hardin, among 33 credited performers. The film was Brady's first as director, followed by The Comebacks in 2007 and Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star in 2011.

On a budget of 34 million dollars, the film took about 55 million dollars worldwide. Its audience scores are modest: 5.6 out of 10 on IMDb from roughly 110,000 votes and 6.4 out of 10 on TMDB from a much smaller base of about 2,300. A critics' rating of 4 out of 10 from 80 reviews places it below even the IMDb audience figure.
