Decalogue X

After their father dies, brothers Jerzy and Artur discover that the modest life he led concealed a valuable stamp collection. Their initial interest in cashing it in gives way to a genuine obsession with completing the set, and that pursuit draws them into the company of dealers whose motives are not always honest. What begins as an inheritance turns into a rivalry that tests their loyalty to each other. The film is the tenth part of Krzysztof Kieślowski's Decalogue, a series of television films inspired by the Ten Commandments.

Kieślowski directed and co-wrote the film with Krzysztof Piesiewicz. It followed Decalogue IX and is the seventh of the thirteen features listed for him. Jerzy Stuhr and Zbigniew Zamachowski play the brothers, with supporting turns from Henryk Bista, Olaf Lubaszenko, Maciej Stuhr and Jerzy Turek. Made for television in Poland and Germany, it runs under an hour.

On TMDB it holds a 7.9 rating from 142 votes, a strong result for a television production of its length and a sign that the final instalment of the series continues to find viewers. The film mixes comedy with drama as the brothers' fixation gradually erodes their judgment.
