Bucha is a war drama and thriller based on true events following Konstantin Gudauskas, a refugee born in Kazakhstan. During the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, Gudauskas used his Kazakh passport to bypass military checkpoints and enter occupied areas, including the city of Bucha. Aided by an intelligence agent, he worked to evacuate hundreds of civilians to safety. While conducting these rescue operations, he witnessed the violence and cruelty carried out by occupying forces, eventually facing a conflict between his own survival and the need to protect innocent people.
The film was directed by Stanislav Tiunov, with a screenplay and production by Oleksandr Shchur. The cast features Cezary Łukaszewicz in the role of Kostiantyn Hudauskas, alongside Serhiy Strelnykov, Viacheslav Dovzhenko, Artemii Yehorov, Anastasiia Nesterenko, and Nikon Fedotov. Released on December 8, 2023, the Ukrainian production has a runtime of 118 minutes. On TMDB, the movie holds a rating of 6.7/10 based on 11 votes.
