Idiot Girls and School Ghost: School Anniversary
Short description
A group of high school girls finds a cassette recorded by earlier students in their school's broadcasting club. The tape describes a game of hide and seek with a ghost, along with a rumor that winning it on the coming school anniversary guarantees a top score on the college entrance exam. Since watching the recording appears to bind them to play, the girls bring in Min-joo, a younger student from the religious club, and enter the game together. The film mixes comedy and horror around this contest and the stakes the students attach to it.
Kim Min-ha directed and wrote the screenplay, with Park Se-jun and Kim Jong-min producing for 26 Company. The cast includes Kim Do-yeon as Ji-yeon, Son Ju-yeon as Eun-byeol, Jeong Ha-dam as Min-joo, Kang Shin-hee as Hyun-jung, Ha Seo-yul as Willy Minky, and Jeon So-min as the homeroom teacher. The film runs 91 minutes and was released in Korea in November 2024.
It is Kim Min-ha's first feature, followed in 2026 by Teaching Practice: Idiot Girls and School Ghost 2. On IMDb it holds a rating of 5.8 from 111 votes, indicating a modest reception for a low-profile genre release.
