Secret Agents

A team of French intelligence agents is tasked with disrupting a gunrunning operation led by Igor Lipovsky, a Russian businessman based in Switzerland. Under the code name Janus, the group travels to Morocco to sink a ship carrying illegal weapons destined for Angola. While the initial sabotage is successful, the mission takes a turn when the agents find themselves targeted by their own employers. As colleagues are arrested or murdered, the lead agent, Brisseau, must navigate a web of betrayal and false leads to uncover the truth behind the operation.

Directed by Frédéric Schoendoerffer, this 2004 action thriller was the first in a series of films he directed, followed by Switch, 96 heures, and Fast Convoy. The film features a cast including Vincent Cassel and Monica Bellucci, alongside André Dussollier, Charles Berling, Bruno Todeschini, and Sergio Peris-Mencheta. A joint production between France, Italy, and Spain, the movie earned 6 million USD at the worldwide box office. Audience reception was mixed, with a rating of 5.4/10 from 5,000 votes on IMDb and a score of 5.5/10 from 171 votes on TMDB.
