Undercover Blues

Jeff and Jane Blue are married spies who have stepped away from fieldwork to raise their baby daughter. When an assignment pulls them back into service, they decide against hiring a sitter and take the child along to New Orleans. There, a routine job turns complicated: Jeff draws the attention of local police after foiling an armed robbery while out with the baby, and one of the would-be robbers, known as Muerte, takes the interruption personally. At the same time, the couple is drawn into the pursuit of Novacek, a Czech operative trafficking in stolen weapons and military secrets.

Herbert Ross directed the film, the twelfth of the thirteen features he made, arriving between My Blue Heaven and Boys on the Side. Ian Abrams wrote the screenplay, and Mike Lobell produced. Kathleen Turner and Dennis Quaid lead as Jane and Jeff, with Fiona Shaw as Novacek, Stanley Tucci as Muerte, Obba Babatundé as Sawyer and Larry Miller as Halsey. The film runs 90 minutes and took in roughly 12 million dollars worldwide.

Audience response has been mixed but durable: on IMDb it holds 6.1/10 from around 11,000 votes, and on TMDB 6/10 from 174 votes. A critics' rating of 4.9/10 from 19 reviews places it below the audience scores on both platforms.
