Power Ballad

Power Ballad follows Rick, a struggling wedding singer, and Danny, a declining boy-band star. The two form a connection through music during a late-night jam session. After Danny uses one of Rick's songs to create a global hit that restores his own fame, Rick attempts to secure the credit and recognition he feels he is owed. This pursuit puts him at odds with those closest to him, including his wife and daughter.

The film was directed by John Carney, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Peter McDonald. This project is the fifth feature directed by Carney, following Once, Begin Again, Sing Street, and Flora and Son. The movie stars Paul Rudd as Rick and Nick Jonas as Danny Wilson, with a supporting cast that includes Peter McDonald, Marcella Plunkett, Havana Rose Liu, and Jack Reynor.
