Set in September 1940, this upcoming historical drama and comedy follows Henri Marre, a 49-year-old man who arrives in Vichy as the regime of Marshal Pétain is established. Estranged from his family and lacking money or connections, Henri hopes to secure a position within the new government. He carries a self-published political treatise titled Notre Salut, in which he applies engineering principles and patriotic beliefs to improve national efficiency. As he navigates the corridors of power to promote his ideas, Henri must deal with moral compromises and opportunism, though his drive for professional legitimacy may be a way to escape his own personal ruin.
The film is written and directed by Emmanuel Marre, following his previous works Premature from 2014 and Zero Fucks Given from 2022. The production is a collaboration between Belgium and France, involving companies such as BeTV, France 2 Cinéma, RTBF, and Proximus. The main cast features Swann Arlaud in the lead role of Henri Marre, alongside Sandrine Blancke, Mathieu Perotto, Harpo Guit, Mathilde Abd El Kader, and Jean-Baptiste Marre. The project credits a total of 20 cast members and 44 crew members. With a runtime of 155 minutes, the film is scheduled for release on September 30, 2026.
