The Hotel of My Dream

Set in 1984, this Japanese comedy drama follows Aida Taiju, a rising writer whose professional prospects are ruined by a comment from an established author named Higashijujo. When both find themselves staying at a hotel in the Jimbocho publishing district, Taiju decides to seek revenge. With the help of her editor, she uses her acting skills to impersonate various women to blackmail Higashijujo and disrupt his professional deadlines, sparking a prolonged feud between the two. The story is based on a 2012 novel by Asako Yuzuki.

The film was directed by Yukihiko Tsutsumi, following his previous 2024 release, A Conviction of Marriage. It features a cast including Non as Taiju, Kenichi Takitoh as Higashijujo, and Kei Tanaka as Endō Michio, alongside Minami Tanaka, Misaki Hattori, and Akari Takaishi. The screenplay was written by Keita Kawajiri and produced by Nikkatsu Corporation and KDDI. Released on December 27, 2024, the movie has a runtime of 100 minutes.
