Short description

Angela Bridges is a driven businesswoman who stays late at the office on Christmas Eve to finish work on a contract. When she finally heads down to the underground parking garage, her car will not start, and the building is all but empty. Thomas, the garage's security guard, seems helpful at first, offering assistance and then a drink. Angela turns him down and tries to leave, but she is overpowered and wakes up restrained, dressed for a Christmas dinner she never agreed to attend. Thomas has been watching her for months through the garage's surveillance system, and in the sealed lower level of the complex, no one can hear her.

Franck Khalfoun directed this horror thriller, released in 2007. It was his first feature as director; he went on to make Maniac, Amityville: The Awakening, Prey and Night of the Hunted. The screenplay is by Grégory Levasseur, Alexandre Aja and Khalfoun, and the film was produced by Summit Entertainment with Aja and Levasseur's company. Rachel Nichols plays Angela, with Wes Bentley as Thomas, supported by Simon Reynolds, Philip Akin, Miranda Edwards and Paul Sun-Hyung Lee.

Made for around four million dollars, the film took roughly double that worldwide. On IMDb it holds 5.9 out of 10 from about 39,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 6.2 from a much smaller pool of voters. A critics' rating of 4.5 out of 10, drawn from 69 reviews, is lower than both audience scores, suggesting reviewers were harder on the film than general viewers.
