OMG: Oh My God! centres on Kanjibhai, a shopkeeper in Bombay whose antique shop is destroyed by an earthquake. When his insurance claim is refused because the disaster is classed as an act of God, he decides to sue the Almighty rather than accept the loss. His case turns into a public spectacle that stirs unrest across the country, and it draws the attention of the god Krishna, who appears in person and changes the course of the dispute.
Umesh Shukla directed the film and wrote the screenplay, and it was produced by Akshay Kumar, B. K. Modi and Vikram Malhotra under Hari Om Entertainment. It was Shukla's first film as director, ahead of Heer Express and Ek Chatur Naar in 2025. Paresh Rawal plays Kanjibhai, with Akshay Kumar as Krishna, Mithun Chakraborty, Om Puri, Mahesh Manjrekar and Puja Gupta among the credited cast of twenty-three. The film is a satirical comedy drama in which a courtroom battle over faith plays out within a family fantasy framework.
Released in September 2012, it ran for 125 minutes and cost around 3 million dollars, going on to take roughly 19 million dollars worldwide. Its standing is reflected in an 8.1 rating on IMDb from around 71,000 votes and a 7.3 rating on TMDB from a much smaller base of roughly 305 votes.
