Nobita becomes fixated on owning a large remote-controlled toy to rival the one Suneo shows off, and his sulking pushes Doraemon to seek relief from the summer heat at the North Pole using the Anywhere Door. Following him there, Nobita finds an odd sphere that pulses with light and summons what appears to be a giant robotic foot. The sphere and further pieces of the machine end up at his house, and he and Doraemon assemble the parts into a towering robot, which they test in the mirror world. The completed machine is no toy: it belongs to an invading robot army from a distant galaxy that intends to enslave humanity, and Nobita and his friends must find a way to stop the coming assault.
The film is directed by Yukiyo Teramoto, whose earlier work includes the 2007 Doraemon feature about the underworld and magic users, and who returned to the series for later entries in 2013 and 2025. The voice cast includes Wasabi Mizuta as Doraemon, Megumi Oohara as Nobita, Yumi Kakazu, Tomokazu Seki, Subaru Kimura, and Miyuki Sawashiro as Riruru.
Released in Japan in March 2011, the film runs 108 minutes and blends adventure, comedy, family and science fiction. On IMDb it holds an 8.1 rating from roughly 3,100 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 7.4 from a smaller pool of 89 votes.
