Short description
When a crime brings them back to L.A., fugitive ex-con Dom Toretto reignites his feud with agent Brian O'Conner. But as they are forced to confront a shared enemy, Dom and Brian must give in to an uncertain new trust if they hope to outmaneuver him. And the two men will find the best way to get revenge: push the limits of what's possible behind the wheel.

What's left behind the scenes

  • In the first film, Walker and Diesel were allowed to perform many of the stunts because neither was considered a star at the time. But by the fourth “Fast & Furious” film, the actors had become famous, the stunts were more complex, and the studio forbade Walker and Diesel from taking risks.
  • Interestingly, the film was originally intended to be titled Fast/Furious and the title was to be placed on the poster above the faces of Walker and Diesel, to make it clear that the first was fast, and the second was furious. But this plan was rejected. In any case, the film's title continues Hollywood's trend of avoiding numbers in sequel titles, as they are associated with low-quality imitations (which sequels with large numbers in the title often are).
  • Vin Diesel filmed a 20-minute prequel to the film. It tells the story of characters such as Dom, Letty, and Han, in the time period between 'The Fast and the Furious' (2001) and 'Fast & Furious' (2009).
  • Paul Walker drives a Nissan Skyline GT-R, which appeared in the second film.
  • In one scene, where an FBI helicopter flies over the highway, a conversation can be heard over the radio (pilot to headquarters): 'Base, this is Black Knight, I'm on Highway Five, five minutes from Joker.' An obvious reference to 'The Dark Knight'.
  • In the scene where the fuel truck is being robbed, Dominic rams one of the tanks, resulting in numerous damages visible on the car, particularly dents. However, in subsequent shots, the damages appear and disappear.
