Short description
RocknRolla is a British crime film set in a London underworld where property deals have become more lucrative than drugs. A Russian businessman, Yuri Omovich, wants a piece of land controlled by old-school gangster Lenny Cole, and a payment meant to secure it sets off a scramble among criminals of every rank. Caught in the middle are small-time crooks One-Two and Mumbles, Omovich's accountant Stella, and Lenny's volatile stepson Johnny Quid, a rock musician believed dead. Loyalties shift as each party tries to take a cut.
Guy Ritchie wrote, directed and produced the film, his fifth of nineteen features and his follow-up to Revolver, arriving before Sherlock Holmes. Gerard Butler plays One-Two, with Tom Wilkinson as Lenny Cole, Thandiwe Newton as Stella, Mark Strong as Lenny's lieutenant Archy, Idris Elba as Mumbles and Tom Hardy as Handsome Bob. Fifty actors are credited.
Made for about 18 million dollars, it returned roughly 26 million worldwide. On IMDb it holds 7.2 from around 275,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 7 from some 3,400 votes, a narrower and warmer audience response than the critics' rating of 6.2 from 146 reviews.

- The machine-gun montage in the sex scene was done because Gerard Butler had a severe respiratory infection on the day of filming, and Tandy Newton refused to kiss him. Guy Ritchie had to improvise.
- Butler's character's nickname, One-Two, translates from English as "quick escape" or "ready response." These words also denote a combination in striking martial arts consisting of two punches (two consecutive direct punches – from the left and immediately from the right, usually to the jaw). In domestic sports terminology, such a combination of punches is commonly called "a pair."
