The Apostle
Short description
A fugitive who recently escaped from prison travels to a remote village in Galicia to retrieve a treasure he hid there years ago. Upon his arrival, he discovers that the secluded community harbors a fate far more terrifying than the incarceration he left behind. The story blends elements of horror, mystery, and fantasy as the protagonist encounters sinister elderly residents and supernatural forces.
Directed and written by Fernando Cortizo, this Spanish production is the first film in Spain to use clay stop-motion animation. The voice cast includes Carlos Blanco as Ramón, alongside Geraldine Chaplin, Paul Naschy, Jorge Sanz, and Xosé Manuel Olveira. The movie was produced by several companies, including TVE and the Ministerio de Cultura, with a budget of 8 million USD.

What's left behind the scenes
- Director Fernando Cortizo decided to record the actors' dialogues outside the studio to make them sound more natural.
- The archpriest, voiced by Paul Nash, grabs a science fiction magazine in one of the scenes. On the magazine's cover, one can notice a photo of Paul Nash himself from one of his previous horror movies.
