Two siblings, Barnaby and Sally, are the grown children of Julian Sklar, an artist who was once famous and has long since withdrawn from the world. Estranged from their father, they scheme to profit from the paintings he never finished: they bring in Lori, a young art restorer with a forger's past, to pass herself off as his assistant and quietly complete the abandoned canvases so the work can be "discovered" and sold once he dies. The arrangement depends on keeping the deception from the one person whose approval would make it worth anything.
The film is a comedy, crime and drama from the United Kingdom and the United States, directed by Steven Soderbergh from a screenplay by Ed Solomon and produced by Jim Parks and Iain Canning. It is the thirty-fourth of thirty-five features Soderbergh has directed in chronological order, arriving between Black Bag and John Lennon: The Last Interview. Michaela Coel plays Lori Butler, with Ian McKellen as Julian Sklar, Jessica Gunning as Sally Sklar and James Corden as Barnaby Sklar; Ferdy Roberts and Tilly Botsford also appear. Running 100 minutes, it holds a rating of 6.9 out of 10 on TMDB from 79 votes.
