Appofeniacs is an upcoming American horror thriller centered on a character named Duke. The story explores the dangers of digital manipulation as Duke recklessly uses a mobile application to create deepfake videos. His disregard for the impact of these deceptive recordings demonstrates how easily someone can ruin or end the life of an unsuspecting person with a few clicks.

The film is written and directed by Chris Marrs Piliero, who also served as a producer alongside Andrew Panay and Jared Iacino. The production was handled by Panay Films, Odin's Eye Entertainment, and YeahBvddy. The ensemble cast features Sean Gunn as Clinto Binto, Jermaine Fowler as Cedrick, and Samantha Cormier as Ali. Other roles include Michael Abbott Jr. as Banks, Harley Bronwyn as Evie, and David Pressman as an emergency operator. The movie has a runtime of 91 minutes and is scheduled for release on October 2, 2026.
