Bookends

After a difficult breakup, a young novelist named Nate leaves his city lifestyle to live with his grandparents in a retirement community. While there, he notices that his grandfather Saul, a Holocaust survivor, is experiencing early signs of dementia. Because his grandmother Miriam refuses to accept these cognitive changes, Nate feels conflicted. He struggles to balance his family obligations and his urge to leave the senior living environment with a new romantic relationship involving his grandparents' doctor.

This comedy-drama was directed by Mike Doyle, following his 2019 film Almost Love. The screenplay was written by Noam Ash, who also stars as Nate. The supporting cast includes F. Murray Abraham as Saul Cohen, Caroline Aaron as Miriam Cohen, and Charlie Barnett as Dr. Daniel Green, along with Jared Reinfeldt and Frank Iriele. Produced by 5X Media and Story Mill Entertainment in the United States, the film has a runtime of 99 minutes.
