Robert Zucchini is a stage actor deeply influenced by the work of Victor Hugo. While he finds success and fulfillment in performing for large audiences, he struggles to balance his professional passion with his private existence. This stability is disrupted when his daughter, whom he has not seen since she was a child, returns to his life, forcing him to navigate the difference between artistic admiration and familial love.
This French comedy-drama was directed by Pascal Bonitzer, following his previous works Auction and Maigret and the Dead Lover. The film features a cast led by Fabrice Luchini in the role of Robert Zucchini, appearing alongside Chiara Mastroianni, Louise Orry-Diquéro, Suzanne De Baecque, Marie Narbonne, and Lauretta Trefeu. The screenplay was written by Sophie Fillières and produced by Charles Gillibert and Emmanuelle Garassino through CG Cinéma and Assise Productions.
Released on March 11, 2026, the movie has a runtime of 89 minutes. Audience reception is mixed but generally positive, with a rating of 6.5/10 on TMDB and a slightly lower score of 5.7/10 on IMDb, though both ratings are based on a small sample of 24 votes.
