Laundry

Set in Johannesburg in 1968, this drama follows Khuthala, a young man who wishes to pursue a career in music rather than managing his father's laundry business. His ambitions clash with the harsh realities of the apartheid era, as the government increases its pressure on Black business owners. Khuthala finds himself torn between his personal dreams and the need to fight against the systemic injustice threatening his family's livelihood.

Written and directed by Zamo Mkhwanazi, who also served as a producer, the film is a co-production between Switzerland and South Africa. The production involved RTS, Akka Films, and Kude Media. The lead roles are played by Ntobeko Sishi as Khuthala and Siyabonga Melongisi Shibe as Enoch. The movie has a runtime of 106 minutes and was released on August 13, 2026.
