The Fall of Sir Douglas Weatherford

In the Scottish village of Arberloch, a tour guide named Kenneth is dedicated to honoring the memory of Sir Douglas Weatherford, an eighteenth-century inventor and philosopher. Kenneth views Weatherford as his ancestor and works to preserve the town's limited historical legacy. However, conflict arises when a high-budget fantasy television series begins filming in the area. As the community abandons local traditions in favor of the show's fan culture, Kenneth experiences a psychological decline. This downward spiral is witnessed by his daughter, Anna, and is fueled by Kenneth's obsession with the series' lead actor.

This comedy-drama was written and directed by Sean Dunn. The film features Peter Mullan in the lead role of Kenneth, supported by Gayle Rankin as Anna. Other cast members include Kerry Fox, Jonathan Hyde, Lewis MacDougall, and Jakob Oftebro, with a total of 22 credited actors. The production was a United Kingdom venture involving BBC Film, BFI, Screen Scotland, and Forensic Films. The movie has a runtime of 95 minutes.
