In the thirtieth century, a ruthless businessman sets out to build an intergalactic golf course that would wipe out entire worlds and their wildlife. Leela responds by joining a group of militant ecological feminists, turning her into an outlaw pursued by Zapp Brannigan, while Bender falls for a married fembot. An accident leaves former pizza delivery boy Fry with telepathic powers, and a secret society recruits him to stop ancient dark forces threatening all life in the universe.
Futurama: Into the Wild Green Yonder is a 2009 animated science fiction comedy and the second Futurama film directed by Peter Avanzino, following Futurama: The Beast with a Billion Backs the previous year. Ken Keeler wrote the screenplay, and Claudia Katz and Lee Supercinski produced it for 20th Century Fox Television and The Curiosity Company. The voice cast includes Billy West as Fry, Dr. Zoidberg and Professor Farnsworth, Katey Sagal as Leela, John DiMaggio as Bender, and Tress MacNeille, Maurice LaMarche and Phil LaMarr in supporting roles.
The film runs 90 minutes and draws a 7.2 rating on IMDb from around 20,000 votes and a 7.1 on TMDB from roughly 600 votes. The two figures sit close together, indicating that the large IMDb sample and the smaller TMDB sample agree on the film's reception.
