Undisputed

Undisputed centres on two heavyweight boxing champions who end up in the same maximum security prison, Sweetwater. Monroe Hutchen has spent years as the institution's unbeaten champion, serving a life sentence for a crime of passion. George "Iceman" Chambers arrives after a rape conviction costs him his world title and his freedom. Neither man accepts the other's claim to be the best, and a long-serving inmate with connections on both sides of the law sees a chance to promote one final fight behind bars.

Walter Hill directed the film, working from a screenplay he wrote with David Giler. It is the nineteenth of the twenty-two features Hill has directed in chronological order, arriving between Supernova and Bullet to the Head. Wesley Snipes plays Hutchen and Ving Rhames plays Chambers, with Peter Falk, Michael Rooker, Jon Seda and Wes Studi among the supporting cast. The production involved companies in Germany, the United States and Japan.

Made for a budget of about 20 million dollars, the film took roughly 15 million dollars worldwide, less than its cost.
