Hallo Betty

Set in 1950s Switzerland, this comedy-drama follows Emmi Creola, an advertising copywriter who creates Betty Bossi to help market products for a cooking oil company. While the fictional character rapidly becomes a national culinary icon, Emmi struggles to balance the rising professional demands of her creation with her own private difficulties. This growing tension threatens to overwhelm her as Betty Bossi gains immense popularity among the public.

The film was directed by Pierre Monnard, following his 2024 project Bisons and preceding Ewigi Liebi in 2026. The screenplay was written by André Küttel and produced by Peter Reichenbach. The cast is led by Sarah Spale in the role of Emmi Creola, appearing alongside Martin Vischer, Rabea Egg, Ueli Jäggi, Cyril Metzger, and Thomas Douglas. A Swiss production, the movie was created through a collaboration between SRG SSR, SRF, C-Films, and CH Media. It has a total runtime of 108 minutes.
