Politzek, the voices that challenge the Kremlin is a documentary drama about the systemic persecution of political prisoners in Russia. The film examines the state's repressive methods by following several individuals who faced imprisonment or trial for opposing the government. These figures include a human rights activist, a teenager jailed for social media posts, an artist who used anti-war stickers, and theater directors involved in complex legal battles. Filmed in secret over more than a year, the work focuses on those who continue to express dissent despite the risks.
The film was co-directed by Manon Loizeau and Ekaterina Mamontova, with a screenplay written by Loizeau and Sacha Koulaeva. Produced by a collaboration of companies from France, Belgium, and Germany, including RTBF, Shelter Prod, France Télévisions, and SWR, the project was overseen by producer Stéphanie Lebrun and Hanne Phlypo. Released on March 7, 2026, the production has a runtime of 90 minutes.
