Stitch! The Movie

Lilo and Stitch have settled into life together in Hawaii, where Stitch, Pleakley and Dr. Jumba have become part of the household. What Lilo and Stitch do not know is that Jumba has secretly brought his other experiments to Earth. When Jumba is taken away and the experiments are demanded as ransom, Lilo and Stitch set out to rescue him, even though doing so means awakening one of Jumba's less stable creations.

The film is a direct-to-video release from Disney Television Animation, running just over an hour. Tony Craig and Roberts Gannaway directed; for both, it came third in their shared sequence of features, after two Mickey Mouse titles, and both would return for Leroy & Stitch. Gannaway co-wrote the screenplay with Jess Winfield, and the two also produced alongside Craig. The voice cast includes Daveigh Chase as Lilo, Chris Sanders as Stitch, Tia Carrere as Nani, David Ogden Stiers as Jumba, Kevin McDonald as Pleakley and Liliana Mumy as Myrtle.

Audience responses were moderate: on IMDb the film holds a rating of 6.1 from around 13,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits slightly higher at 6.4 from just over 800 votes. A small sample of critics rated it 4.8 out of 10, below what general viewers gave it. It is remembered as the launch point for the animated series that followed the original feature.
