Avemmaria

Set in the outskirts of Naples during the early 1980s, the story follows a young boy named Felice who lives in a decaying building with his parents, grandmother, and three brothers. Growing up in a violent and impoverished environment, Felice uses his imagination to escape the harsh realities of his home life. While his surroundings offer little room for fantasy, his teacher, Giulia, recognizes his gift for singing and encourages him. Inspired by the image of Neil Armstrong's footprint on the moon, Felice begins to believe he can overcome his circumstances and find a way out of his neighborhood.

The film was directed and written by Fortunato Cerlino. The cast features Mario Di Leva as the young Felice and Salvatore Esposito as the adult version of the character. Other roles are played by Marianna Fontana, Carmine Borrino, Franca Abategiovanni, and Cecilia Bertozzi. Produced by companies including RAI Cinema and Europictures, this Italian crime drama has a runtime of 109 minutes.
